Frequently Asked Questions

F.A.Q’s

Cookhouse

Q: Can I book the Cookhouse online?
A: No, all of our meal reservations are call to book only. If you would like to book dinner or lunch, please call this number to make a reservation: 719-486-8114.

Q: Where do I find the menu?
A: Entree choices can be found at the links below. Dinner menu: https://www.tennesseepass.com/cookhouse/dinner-at-the-cookhouse/ Lunch menu: https://www.tennesseepass.com/cookhouse/lunch-at-the-cookhouse/

Q: How do I submit my entree orders?
A: Please call 719-486-8114, or text 719-293-3939 with name, date of reservation, and entrees.

Q: What’s the max amount of people I can book at the Cookhouse?
A: You can book up to 10 people per table. For each reservation, there can be no more than two tables booked. If you would like to book more people than that, you can do a private buy-out of the Cookhouse. Email info@tennesseepass.com for more information.

Q: How early do I need to arrive?
A: We recommend getting to the Nordic Center to check in for dinner at least 45 minutes before your meal time. If you’re a party that needs extra time, give yourself plenty of time. It’s better to be early and take in the views, rather than rushing to get up to the Cookhouse if you are late. Remember, your reservation includes rentals and trail passes for the entire day, so feel free to come early and experience nature.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy for Cookhouse lunch or dinner?
A: Cookhouse dining reservations must be changed or canceled at least 72 hours before your reservation time in order avoid cancellation fees. The cancellation fee is $75 per person for dinner and $25 per person for lunch. If you have a private party booked, there’s a thirty day notice for cancellation to avoid a penalty. The penalty is dependent on the amount of people in the private party.

Q: Can I drive to the Cookhouse?
A: We do not allow our patrons to drive to the Cookhouse. We encourage you to cross country ski or snowshoe the one mile to the Cookhouse and there are rentals available. You are also welcome to hike.

Q: Can I get a ride to the Cookhouse?
A: If you require special assistance to get to the Cookhouse, this can be arranged in advance. The cost is $10/person, each way.

Q: What should I wear?
A: There’s no dress code. The backcountry, close-to-nature atmosphere of the Cookhouse means the looks are casual and laidback. If you feel like getting fancy, we love that too. Dress in layers for the one mile walk up and down. Keep in mind the temperature can drop after dinner when the sun goes down. Most people dine in their ski boots. If you’re snowshoeing, wear snow boots. We do not rent snow pants, gloves, or jackets. We do have some Swix brand outerwear for sale at the Nordic Center. If you’re looking to get outfitted in downtown Leadville before coming, check out Community Threads or Leadville Outdoors on Harrison Ave for the essentials.

Q: Do I need to bring my own headlamp?
A: If you have a headlamp, feel free to bring it. We do provide complimentary headlamps at the Nordic Center to wear up to the Cookhouse. These must be returned to the Nordic Center at the end of the night.

Q: I left a voicemail and it’s taking awhile for someone to call me back.
A: If you’ve left a voicemail, your call will be answered in the order it was received. You may not recognize the number calling you back. Be courageous and take the call. Please avoid calling us repeatedly. We only have one reservation agent on at a time and during our busy seasons we will likely receive over 100 phone calls in a single day.
